But the company soon learned that not everyone wants to assemble their own furniture-so each piece has two prices: one for a flat-packed unit you assemble yourself and another for a fully assembled piece delivered to you at home.Ībove: Rather than hide the connecting hardware, Fyrn embraced it: Its Stemn brackets are durable, replaceable, and available in several finishes. NB: Although the company does not have a showroom, if you’re in the SF Bay Area you can stop by to see the wares in person or pick up your furniture so you don’t have to pay to ship fully assembled furniture. Fyrn wares are available online, and the company plans to expand to offer furniture for every room in the house. Our friend Regina Connell of Handful of Salt clued us in to Fyrn, a new line of high-end flat-pack furniture that launched late last year.įounded by specialty woodworker Ros Broughton, whose family has been making furniture for more than a century, Fyrn’s first collection is Stemn, a line of six stools and chairs named for their svelte metal joints.
